Description

Nasi Pear (Nasi means Pear in Japanese) or Asian Pear (Pyrus pyrifolia) is a type of Pear native to Korea, China and Japan. They are also known by many names: nashi, nashi pear, Asian pear, Japanese pear, Korean pear, Taiwan pear, African pear, sand pear, apple pear, bapple, papple, bae, li. Unlike the pear species we know, they are very juicy and retain their color for a long time after harvest and do not lose their freshness for a very long time when properly cooled. They are round in shape, unlike the known pear species. In fact, they are also called apple pears because they resemble apples in shape. As an exception, there is a type of Nasi that resembles the pear we know in shape. Some are yellow, reddish brown, and some are bronze and have spots on them. With this shape, it has a different appearance from other fruits at first glance.
